1. Create a festive atmosphere in your store

Transform your pharmacy into a cheerful, welcoming space that embodies the holiday spirit. Start by assigning a Holiday Captain to coordinate decorations and seasonal efforts. Add festive touches throughout the store to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Display holiday essentials such as cold and flu medications or immune-boosting vitamins, using clear and attractive signage to highlight special offers. Lastly, prioritize health by promoting vaccines like flu, COVID, and pneumonia, ensuring your patients stay protected during the holidays.

2. Stay connected with patients through texts

Keep your patients informed and engaged during the busy holiday season with timely text messages. Send reminders for medication pickups to ensure adherence, and share updates on holiday hours, special discounts, and vaccine availability. You may also consider sending out bulk messages to your patients that are opted-in about any sales or promotions you are running for the holidays. 

3. Engage with your community on social media

Use social media to spread holiday cheer and keep your community engaged. Post updates on holiday hours, health tips, giveaways, and seasonal promotions. Share behind-the-scenes photos of your team celebrating the season—these personal touches can strengthen the connection between your pharmacy and your patients. Update your profile and cover images with festive visuals, and promote any community initiatives, like toy drives or volunteer events, to boost involvement and goodwill.

4. Update your pharmacy website for the holidays

Ensure your pharmacy’s website reflects the holiday spirit by updating it with seasonal visuals like banners and festive images. Use pop-ups to promote holiday sales or discounts, capturing visitors’ attention immediately. You can also showcase your decorated front-of-house with photos to give patients a taste of the festive atmosphere and entice them to come shop in person.

5. Add a festive touch to your IVR system  

Updating your IVR for the holidays can be beneficial both to help you handle an influx of calls this time of year and also to share information about promotions and spread the word about seasonal services. Your IVR greetings and on-hold messages are great way to add a personal touch to patients’ call experience while also keeping your pharmacy front of mind for their health needs this season.
